the location in the very centre of Vence is amazing,
Location of the motel was excellent and it was very easy to find. Staff was quite friendly. Room was sort of traditional i suppose, no point staying somewhere that you could find anywhere in the world, might as well get the feeling of traditional old building and staying in an old historic place!
Room was fairly basic, bathroom door would not stay closed, shower door was broken, no aircon or fridge to keep some cold drinks so i think would be difficult for a long stay in the summer. Television worked now and then, pedestal fan worked now and then!
The hotel did not have air conditioning which created great discomfort for our family and our health. We were forced to leave after the first night. We would never go to this hotel again or recommend it to anyone. The beds were nothing more than cots which had bars in the middle. I strained my back muscles sleeping there only one night.
The hotel is located not far from the railway station, so you won't have to walk with heavy bags through numerous calles. The breakfast is nice.
Our room was facing quite busy street, fruit and mask seller were shouting till 2 am as they we packing there kiosks and unpacking them since 5 am.
It was pretty close to the train station and there were shops all near by. The breakfast was also good.
The room kind of smelt funny.
Location is easy to find, not far from railway station. You can leave baggage at the hotel before catching night train.
The heater didn't work well. The fruit and vegetable shop is just front of the hotel, so they make noisy in very early morning.
Hotel Arcadia is located about five minutes from the St. Lucia train stop on Venice, and it was great not to have to haul our backpacks across the island. There were plenty of people walking heavy luggage all over the place, and we were glad not to be those people. The hotel gives you a card and a key. The key is for your room and the card allows you to get into the facility 24/7 which is nice if you want to take a late stroll around Venice. The room amenities were minimal, but provided us with everything we needed. The shower was hot, the room was very clean and the staff was polite, helpful and spoke great English. The breakfast room is beautiful and the breakfast was delightful with crossaints and coffee.
It was neat to have a room that overlooked the main street so we could watch the vendors and people. The negative to that was that we could hear the vendors setting up their fruit stands at about 7am every morning. And while the location is nice to get to the train station, it can be a far walk to many of the main attractions, such as St. Mark's square. However, I would still argue that this was a great value.
hotel basic but great value for a city hotel great location short walk from the bus and train station. On a main street so plenty of restaurants and bars our bedroom was at the back of the hotel so quite quiet. Breakfast was a help yourself to cerial bread tea coffee and yoghurts. Staff were very friendly and helpful would use hotel again
Nice breakfast, nice room for 2 stars
Noisy, you can hear everything outside the door. In summer very hot as there's no airconditioning
Fantastic location only minutes away from the Guglie boat stop- we had a comfortable and clean family room (4 bed): breakfast was standard- the hotel is nicely located within walking distance of St Mark's square. Hotel staff were extremely friendly, spoke english pretty well. I would stay here again.
Given the very hot and humid weather, it would have been very comfortable to have atleast one more pedestal fan (we had only one to cover for 4 single beds) and a better quality one than the one we had (not much of breeze coming out of it!).
The hotel is old, long stairs and no lift (no help from the hotel staff!) - you will climb the stairs by yourselves with your bags! We found a person on the street and gave him money to help us with our luggage! Next point is rooms, they are dirty, bathroom is awful, taps were never cleaned and shower cubicle was just super tiny, it was better not to enter it at all. Mosquitoes were everywhere and I was bitten 1000 times during 2 days stay. The main lamp to light the room was not working, for my begging to solve this problem nobody reacted at all, they suggested to turn on the night-light if I want to read. The furniture is very old and the room itself was really tiny, just a bed (10 S.M.) Some words about personnel, they are rude, not welcome, housemaid shouted at me saying I have to get out of here immediately. Never come here. You will spoil your time in a nice romantic city.
No ac in hot summer. It was a hot experience. Ac is a must. Otherwise it was a good hotel in its class.
Only the location
Bad reception , not responsible with costumer belongings, bad room quality. Broken window, no reception at night from 2000 onwards, not enough blankets.
The hotel is dirty and toilets and bathroom are not very good.....
No a/c, 8 inch tv that did not work, hundreds of ants in the bathroom and a bed mattress made from wood. Not a three star hotel by any means at best one star. Location is the only thing the Hotel Arcadia has going for it. Be cautious!
